They had medicine balls at my elementary school gym. They were used to prop open the doors to the equipment room..I think I was an adult before I found out what they’re called and that they’re an actual piece of sporting equipment that has an actual use.
Our elementary school gymnasium/auditorium had a big ol’ equipment closet. The medicine balls lurked in there. The medicine the name refers to is the Doan’s pills you will need for your back after tossing those boulders around.
