The Constitution is a living document. That’s the purpose of Amendments. If not for one of them, the 22nd, pushed mainly by Republicans a while back, Obama could be running for his third term.
If strictly applied, Ted Cruz can’t be president. The congress has the power to make law and change things but all they do is bitch about the President, shut down the government, and vote yet another time to revoke Obama care. I guess that enables them not not address the several problems the country faces.
The Republicans adhere to the constitution the same way Evangelical Christians follow Christ’s words in the New Testament,. i.e. they only follow the parts that better serve their personal beliefs.
There is no version of the Republican’s vision of America which is any way lined up with the Constitution. The do-nothing Congress that won’t pay our nation’s debt. Working with foreign countries and individual companies to skirt around the Executive branch while trying to stuff their pockets with money. From immigration to foreign policy the Congress has overstepped its bounds and made the US look like petulant children. The way both sides throw constitutional rocks at each other – they might as well be looking in a mirror. None of the current government is all that concerned with the Constitution, especially the Republicans.

Of course, he didn’t say Whose Constitution..The Fundies have got one that they have Completely rewritten to turn the country into a Theocracy..Their “New” First Amendment now reads:
“Thou Shalt Worship Jebus and Shut Up about anything else.”
Lots of talk about how Obama violates the constitution. But of course, no examples given; because it’s not actually true. It’s like the thousands of Muslims on 9/11, or the top scientists who deny global warming, or the failure of the stimulus. Only Republicans can see it, the rest of us are mystified.
The Constitution is like the Bible — most often cited by those who refuse to live by its overall message but would rather pick out the parts that reinforce their selfish, sociopathic instincts.
