@corpcasselbury – Pierrot (or “Blue Clown”) costume. Designed by Natasha Korniloff for the “Ashes to Ashes” video and Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) album cover, 1980. Just search David Bowie Clown Costume.
John and Scott, thanks for the wonderful tribute. You’ve really encapsulated the intricacy of the man and his style that influenced so many. Oh and great reference to “The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars”. Thanks gents
@Kara Kalel – Not sure who is wearing the striped jump suit, but it appears to be a version of his Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust suit, which he apparently had many versions of.
Labyrinth was/is a family favorite movie ever since I was little. I know Bowie did some great things in the entertainment world but for some reason Labyrinth is the one thing I love him the most for. “You remind me of the babe…”
tnx! for some reason I thought that there would be some sentence from the Labyrinth, which I believe is kind of popular in geekdom (like the Princess Bride), but this is really cool too. Tnx again
hmm.. previous comments came out in inverted order for some reason, but reading other comments (about the water bottle) I see there are two Goblin Queens in the office, it seems.. who is the one with the costume?
today is supposed to be about David Bowie, but I ended up listening to b52s (private Idaho, rock lobster, roam) and Human League (Lebanon). I guess that was (is) the point of new wave, just have fun. I guess a costume party is about that too. Good call
can’t get it out of my head. Yesterday I wrote somewhere else that Bowie may have been like ‘the Rolling Stones’ of new wave. Everybody knows the Stones, every body has listened to a few songs from them, but nearly nobody keeps listening them, or the whole time or their whole albums. Yet every big rock band mentions them as one of their influences. Same with Bowie (or Kraftwerk in electronic music), who did not just made the songs, but helped in creating the image and feeling of new wave; the rest was punk music with synthesizers.check ‘Xmal Deutschland – Mondlicht (moon light)’let’s dance (pun intended)

Agreed. The comments above and today’s strip are a nice remembrance to a talented man, David Bowie. His life and career will not be long forgotten.
