    No hotel where they married would rent rooms to black people. Coretta’s Mother once bought a school bus so the black kids in the neighbor hood could get to school. Aledo, Texas for many years didn’t allow black kids in the schools. In the early days of the city, land for the schools was donated by a black man.

    In Marion AL in 1953, the hotels were white only. They stayed in a black owned funeral parlor.

    Hamilton, Illinois once had a chiropractor GM CrankBlessing Hospital Quincy, Ill once had a Dr. Gasser.At QMG, Dr, Blinder is in optometery and D. Nutter does circumcisions!
