Sorta’ true. BTW: the EO has things like stricter control on the mentally ill getting guns, just like the NRA and Republicans have been saying is the answer.

It’s not really about gun control. It’s about whether this president can legally do what he has been getting by with. There have been literally hundreds of impeachable offenses.

I still haven’t seen legislation that passes the liability to the seller or giver of the gun. You would have to prove that you did “due diligence” before selling or giving a gun to a person. Registered gun dealers should be set up to do this, and for a fee, they should be able to perform the same checks for a private individual wishing to sell a gun or give a gun away.

Failure to do so would make the seller or donor liable for any crimes committed by the new owner.

Many of the mass shootings were done with guns legally purchased and then passed on to the shooters.

NRA- backed members of Congress passed laws limiting gun shops to one unannounced inspection per year, preventing the tracking of gun violence and they blocked a law preventing people on no-fly list from getting guns.-On my last point, there should be a way to get off of the no-fly list (even if it is just to get on an airplane!) which would be a delay in getting a gun, not a complete denial.

Makes me think of a trial once where the prosecution kept harping about the fact that it was a nice young man that was killed because they had no evidence of any kind to use. Needless to say the jury found the defendant not guilty almost as soon as they got to the jury room.-Isn’t it terrible that when we know someone is guilty, but there is no evidence whatsoever, we can’t just shoot them anyway.-That’s America today – Guilty! Even if proven innocent, still Guilty!.

Gun ZEALOTS (not your average gun owner) and the NRA continue with their false notion about the left wanting to take guns away. Not true, but it causes the uninformed to run out and buy more guns. The NRA reoresents gun manufacturers and dealers, it no longer represents regular gun owners. Most regular owners want background checks too.
