It’s a shame that there isn’t a law that makes politicians HAVE to tell the truth in their campaigns and punishes them for lying to the public. Of course, look at who makes the laws in this country.

Aren’t there laws in some (most? all?) states that political candidates cannot be charged with slander or libel for statements made while campaigning?
