Lynn’s Note*My brother and I fought all the time, and it was often out of sheer boredom. When there was nothing going, on we created our own drama. I often wonder if I continue to do the same thing; when everything is going well, I tend screw something up, creating a problem I then have to worry about!

It’s been too nice of a winter here in northern Maine to have cabin fever this early. Lowest temperature has been about -10F for a time or two. We usually get down close to -40F on many a night during a normal winter and several weeks where the highs stay below zero.

One of the fun things about this strip is seeing what was considered “modern” 29 years ago. Look at that dinosaur of a TV set with no remote!

I feel like this in Feb. It’s a good thing it’s a short month. This year we have an extra day to endure.

I dunno but it sure seems like Elizabeth grew up in a hurry. A couple months ago, it seems like her Mother was getting her around in a stroller, then pre-school, now he is almost as big as Michael ! Just stating my opinion.

Children have growth spurts at different ages. The girl will shoot up taller than the boy – but six months later he’ll be a foot taller.

Knew these were old, but gee – a TV you could “click” from it’s console??

There were no remote controls back in those days. This is an old strip, remember. When we had our first television set, there was only one channel anyway – so no need to have a remote. You switched it on and off at the set, and then unplugged it at the wall.

We had a lovely weekend last week, but yes, cabin fever does set in. I live in NC, US, where we have a short and mild winter, but no matter where I’ve lived, it’s been hard in February. Holidays over (bills in, so grumpy adults), no major holidays till Easter to break the monotony of school. Dark early and till late, which no doubt affects kids’ moods as much as adults’. I am thankful that the first flowers are always seen here by end of the month. The short month is the hardest, and then the hope and springiness kick in!
