Dogs with good noses like Labs and Goldens don’t need to get that close to smell something.
My Golden Molly and I were walking on a NC beach some months after Hurricane Hugo. The flattened dunes had been rebuilt by bulldozing the beach sand.
Molly lifted her head, sniffed, and ran down the beach, up a dune, and dug several feet down. She pulled out a Frisbee.
After that, I never doubted the fantastic stories I’ve read about cadaver dogs, etc.
Rover is looking for yellow snow…
