Don’t run it to the school for him. Teach responsibility & do not be an enabler. There are consequences for actions. Kids need to learn that. He screws up, it is his own fault.

Exactly. He’ll say something like, “oh yeah thanks, that class was cancelled, we have an assembly today.”

Yeah, but you’re lucky if you’ve never had that sinking feeling when you see that homework sitting there (meaning your kid never forgets). You might experience it for only a moment before you say, “oh, well, it’s his own fault,” but it’s probably the same feeling the kid experiences when he realizes he forgot his homework at home!

but at least he did the homework. come on people give the kid credit. i’m pretty sure everybody here uses the erasers on their pencils
