Does Benson unserstand at all just how our court justice system works? If he had ever been on a jury in a criminal case, as I have then he should. You are instructed that if the lawyers for the defence have placed any doubts in your head, you have to vote for aquital, and if the laywers for the state have made their case beyond reasonable doubt, then you have to vote quilty. That is how it is supposed to work. It actually has nothing to do with actual guilt or non guilt. Of course, in the far greater number of cases it works out that way anyway.

<pBut, if neither side convinces all twelve jurers of their side of the particular case, then there is a hung jury. And that is NOT a case of justice for Freedom, one way or the other!!

And no, the system is NOT perfect, but then any system that depends upon the interaction of human beings is ever goint to be perfect. But over literally thousands of years it has generally worked out better than ANY other system!!

Steve Benson use to be a Mormon and his grandfather was the ‘prophet’ of the church.

All Mormon believe once they get their ‘priesthood’ they have the power of “discernment”. In other words they know the truth without the need of proof.

There will be another trial. It should be in the court, not the media. BTW: prosecutors need to file accurate charges, not overstep, which is why some trials ARE stacked against conviction on lesser charges that might be more accurately brought. For instance criminally negligent behavior isn’t alway murder, or even voluntary manslaughter.

The hung jury only existed because some jurors came in with a pre-determined belief in the guilt of the officer. As Robert Landers stated, this was pretty much an impossible case in which to get the conviction because of the burden of proof. A total overcharge and a political bone thrown out in hopes of taming the savage mob. “Justice for Freddie” would have kept Freddie safe behind bars. Nobody should be free to roam the streets selling heroin with as many convictions as he’s had. And we are supposed to believe that the system is “rigged” against minorities? The system purposely went easy on Freddie Gray over and over again.

Speaking of the word ‘lynch’…shouldn’t the broad who heads the DOJ change her name from ‘Lynch’ to something more PC in this era of PC.
