If I was a doctor I say to the Pennys It is simple you are fat and out of shape. Eat better and get some exercise. You will feel better. Also no amount of meds can fix how you feel. I can fix your health issues without you doing your part. But saying that truth is frowned upon by both the PC crowd and the neo conservatives. See the two sides can agree on something.
When I was still at Hopkins we had one cardiologist who told patients flat out he’d give them a month, and whatever help they needed (patches, etc.) , to stop smoking. “If you’re going to continue to kill yourself, there’s really nothing I can do to help you.”
