You have that backwards. Hitler (and Japan) with their warmongering and egomania were responsible for huge recruitment of the British, the Americans, and in fact all the allies. I presume it is a mistake they came to regret. .In our age there is nothing gained from the American egomaniac and warmongering neocons demonizing an entire religion. We’re not going to identify where and by whom it started. .But I will opine in a general way that the violence coming from both Christian and Muslim is due to intolerance. It is expressed by such things as your support for Trump and others demonizing an entire religion for the actions of a few extremists who are seeking revenge for stuff done to them. It is expressed by a candidate for President vowing to carpet bomb them (all of them, guilty and innocent); to turn the sand to glass; to build walls to keep them out; to invade them and kill and maim them with shock & awe; to attempt to change their political system; to attempt to control their resources; to attempt to solve differences with military force rather than dialogue, or just plain minding our own business. We should not be surprised when the rhetoric coming from our would-be political leaders becomes a prime recruiting tool for the other side for condemning an entire population. The solution in a general way is tolerance, and in that regard, WE have a long way to go.
