Too bad they couldn’t go to the San Diego Comic Con this week-end. Just imagine Petey in that environment.

    I love seeing Petey happy.

I have read some of those “crisis on multiple earths” comics, and they read somewhat like parodies in their indecipherable plots that involve incomprehensible physics.

I did like Superman from Earth-22.

Somehow I imagine that Petey would enjoy reading Marc Hempel’s “Gregory” Series.

There goes one of Loris’ rubber bands again. Honestly, they must go through them by the bushel …

I think this cartoon camp arc is absolutely brilliant. I’m enjoying Loris and Andre so much.

I’m just surprised Petey would touch anything “thrilling”…

Doc, I quit collecting because the stories got just too dark and complex. I like the golden and silver age super heroes because each story was self-contained, with rare exceptions. Now most story line are multi-issue, multi-title behemoths. The other reason was the dumbing down of the characters. I liked to read comic book stories when the hero was a hero and the story was about a specific incident. Now, the heroes are usually full of angst and their so-called “back stories” run throughout their entire line of comics, forcing you to either read all of their titles in order to get the full story or be confused all the time. I guess the ultimate for me was the year-long Batman story line that turned him back into an outlaw. Sure, he’s still the good guy, but now he has to battle the cops as well as the villains. Bye-bye DC. Over at Marvel, it was the constant anti-mutant garbage. It read way too much like racism, and I got so tired of reading about it in every book. Bye bye Marvel.

As long as we’re talking comic books, how about we press RT for a spin-off strip? We can have “The Amazing Cul de Sac” which comes out in the morning, and then “Cul de Sac Adventures” in the afternoon, with separate continuities (and occasional cross-overs).

I’m loving Cartoon Camp, but I miss Camp Blisshaven. If next week we’re back at Camp Blisshaven, I’ll love it but miss Cartoon Camp. Petey, Andre and Loris still have to buy a newspaper with a WHOLE PAGE devoted to comic strips, but what’s going on with Alice and the Weird New Ki…er…Sophie?

One strip per day isn’t nearly enough.

They should have gone for a DC Showcase Presents or a Marvel Essentials … hundreds of pages of comicky goodness for a relative pittance. I’ve felt Loris’ pain. I’ve spent less than 10 minutes reading a comic to look up and proclaim to the universe, “$3.95 for that?!?”
