And it should not be ‘unforgivable.’ Annoying, sure- even disillusioning I could understand. But, as a creator myself, I can also see Lucas’ side. Not everyone wants to see both sides of an issue.
My husband sees the “Han shot first” thing as part of a redemption arc. He goes from being a REAL rogue and borderline bad guy to a hero over the course of the movies. By altering this, you lose what he feels is an essential part of a hero’s’ journey and an element of any good saga.
