I wanted one as well, but I ended up with two.(PS: they’re not allowed out and have double bells on their collars in case they escape.)

You don’t kill songbirds. You just play with them until they break.Same with mice, but they have better squeakers and last a bit longer. And they can’t be killed, because they were never even cats to begin with, and so were never alive.

I’d just like to point out this cat has not been convicted of any crime.

To be serious for just a moment. Please, if you have a cat, please consider making him/her an indoor only cat.

Cats in the Lesser Great White North, which is still a beauty way to go, are endangered by coyotes, wolves and fishers. these predators were once wiped out in the upper Midwest and rodents and other vermin became too numerous. Even if you removed the cats that keep the gopher and ground squirrel populations under control, the improved buffet menu will draw in those other predators that are making their comeback. Coyotes in particular are becoming a problem, as they are smarter than most people.

Cat burglars get a free pass? ………………………………………….

Had a cat when I was a kid (growing up on a farm) that hunted and killed snakes. He would leave them on the back door step and wait for one of us to open the door. Never failed to startle the hell out of us … looking back on this I’m convinced that was his purpose.

In any case, I’ve had my cat a prisoner for all of its natural life, not because she is a killer, but because she is fluffy and purrs, which I consider to be much more serious crimes.
