    They only serve whole grain food…and no unhealthy soft drinks…but they’ll be happy to bring you some water and a straw.

    I prefer my farm-to-table grain to have some processing … starting with a bovine and finishing with a butcher.

    The chaff will chafe them. This is where we separate the wheat from the straw.

    Had to look that up….thanks for expanding my lexicon. This morning I had some sourdough bread made from red fife wheat grown locally here in northern Maine and baked by the farmer.

    Hmmm, I dunno…. I can taste the hydraulic fluid. I’d rather have the grain harvested by hand.

    When a kid I use to chew on wheat from the combine’s hopper, it tasted pretty good. You just had to pick it up from around all the grasshoppers that also went through the thrasher.
