My niece has a dog that can do a very good imitation of ‘Marm’ at this time. The dog can go to sleep at the drop of a hat but if you want to go somewhere, he is ready for action !
I retired a few years ago, and shortly after received a call from a friend asking me what I was doing now that I was retired.
I told him “nothing” and we went on to talk about other subjects.
A few months later he called again, and asked the same question, “What are you doing these days?”
To which I replied, “Nothing!”
He then said, “But that’s what you told me the last time I called!”
I replied, “I’m not done yet!”
Marmaduke deserves a rest. He brings joy and happiness to us comic readers around the world.
We’re all entitled to a little ‘us’ time every now and again!
