I use Facebook to stay in touch with my dearest friends, who mostly live in other states. My wife and I also run a history group, “Time Traveling to the Past”, which is a lot of fun.
dropped facebook years ago because of their privacy violations with the info they glean. I have ways of testing that since I’m in IT; the email, web beacons, third party cookies – marketing scum doing their slimy thing is easily detectable
