I sometimes wonder what would have happened if the response to 9/11 had been…nothing. Jesus taught his followers not to fight back against enemies, but instead to love them. (Matthew 5:38-40). Violence begets more violence; revenge begets revenge. The sad chain needs to be broken at some point. The sooner the better, I say.
