sounds like he hit on to something there. And that’s about all it takes to cool down an argument. That and now she needs to say that she may be upset but she still respects him. Best way to communicate.

    I tried that.

    It didn’t work.

She enjoyed her ‘angry’ to much.

    Meh. Too mushy.

I wonder what’s happening over at Hagar and Wiz of Id today… :-)

But on the topic of mushy romantic stuff, here’s today’s Between Friends…

I don’t care that you love me. I still want a real vacation!

Don’t worry, lightenup. It’ll come up in future conflicts. She won’t be able to help herself. It’s genetic.

Elly and John didn’t speak each other for a couple days or so. But other way, I know that they still have love inside their feelings for each other. Finaly, they made up and hugged each other affectionally. Not to worry about wrong cabin but they already enjoyed their cabin/camping vacation once for the lifetime. :-)

Just look at Elly’s face- only difference is a tiny dot at mouth in panel 2 and mini smile in 3. That’s ART- the art of reading people.

So, he doesn’t care that HE screwed up, he loves her anyway. That doesn’t make much sense to me, and it certainly doesn’t sound like an apology.

Been married and fighting for 44 years. My husband says “you are beautiful and I love you” over and over when I’m mad. I once said, “do you really think that will work.” And he said, “pretty much.” He was right - just that one time.

“I don’t care” says John … not once but 3 times!!!!!

Luckily for that idiot she focused on the “I love you” part of his so-called “apology”(?) instead of the “I don’t care about you and your feelings” part of it! If my husband had said something like this to me, it would have caused an even bigger fight than what had caused the original (fight)!!!

the nicest thing about an argument (or the silent treatment) is making up afterward

“I love you so much, Elly, and I’m so sorry I was such a jerk. Please forgive me”

That is what I would want to hear from him!

Good Mozart and sorry Bird but just about any wife wold accept that as an apology (men often don’t “understand” but will appologize if they know they have hurt you ;-)
