Jeff’s cartoon shows a part of what makes America great - the cautious conservative. It’s doesn’t work all the time and sometimes we need a progressive solution. Neither way works all the time, but the superposition of the ideologies is really good, all the time.
2010 Liberals: ‘We have to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it.’2015 Liberals: ‘We have to let 10,000 Syrians in to find out who they are.’Thank goodness the Republicans and FIFTY House Democrats disagree.
“If islam is such a peaceful and compassionate religion then why aren’t the muslim countries of the world opening their borders for their brothers?”You are seriously challenged on factual information. The majority of Syrian refugees are in Turkey, Jordan & Lebanon. And, guess what? The Syrians have been good for their economies.
“they just redefined how to calculate and who is included.”No, that is a lie. There has been no change in unemployment statistics during Obama’s administration. The rest of your post is talking points & reflective of the general depression that seems to be common among conservatives.
Muslims don’t assimilate? Neither have the Amish. They are guilty only of practicing their religion. What do you expect that they all become Christians as soon as they cross the border? Would you become a Muslim immediately upon entering an Islamic country? Would you give up beer and bacon cheeseburgers?
You are making the mistake of confusing the government with the people fleeing from the government. To say that these people agree with their government’s policies is like saying all Americans agree with Obama.
I tell you what. Why don’t you leave the comfort of your home and go over to one of these countries and refuse to assimilate. These people aren’t leaving because they want to; they are leaving because they are being persecuted by their governments. As I see it, it isn’t long before our government starts persecuting its citizens: at least those, non-white, non-English-speaking or non-Christian citizens. Let’s get on with it and preserve the Aryan race!
I personally know several Muslims, I’ve been to a mosque, I’ve studied the Quran (well, not entirely, yet). Call this quest either enlightenment or “know your enemy.” So when I speak, I speak from knowledge and not hearsay or public opinion and certainly not from the political rhetoric spewed by political candidates.
I am not afraid that a terrorist might sneak in with tens of thousands of refugees. I’m afraid of waking up one day soon in a Fascist State.

It’s not the little boys, people. It’s the terrorists who have already said they are trying to infiltrate the refugee crowd. Wise up!

Instead of making a ‘stop’ motion, I’d have liked it better if the elephant was raising a middle finger.

Jeff, while you’re lampooning the Republicans, tell me about the 47 House Democrats who voted for the Syrian and Iraqi Refugee Screening Act.
