“Ryans” oppening does show the way it is, not just in WW II, and in fact today , many of the injuries are worse, but now “survivable”. If more people could also SMELL and HEAR war, not just view a Hollywood interpretation, we might send fewer off to totally unnecessary wars.
And my pet peeve is the chickenhawk brigade trying to decare theyselves the “heros”.
Can people just not appreciate this cartoon for it’s beauty? A kid looks up to someone who risked his life to fight for him – a superhero! Do we really need this bickering ??!

Probably not a PX. They are usually staffed by civilians — these days illegals, maybe. The PX is a business, after all and must hold down costs.
