“^ wbr does not know that government spending creates jobs and stimulates the economy.”..How much longer will we have to wait until we see the results?
Just another right-winger that doesn’t realize Congress writes the budgets, not the White House? Which, a line item veto would only send egregious stuff back to Congress for reconsideration, or elimination, not “cancel it” outright, but that’s just another unkown on the right.
dear beau you did a typo that should be 30 months not years // glad to help // dear dtroutma you never heard of exec action [ see $$$ being spent on criminal aliens]
Obama has already threatened to shut down the government unless he gets his things. That’s why we’ve been operating under CR’s since 2008-2009. Ever since he’s been elected, he’s faulted the republicans for not passing a budget of which he approves. Last time the government shut down, everyone howled that it was the Republicans’ fault, even though Obama was using his veto power to make it happen. It’s been that way since the Republicans have been in control of the house and senate, as well, as he threatens veto against any changes he doesn’t like. And because the general populace is so willing to believe anything they read on facebook, they don’t realize that the fault lies with Obama, not with Congress. After all, like you guys said, Congress controls the purse strings. But if you have a belligerent president that refuses to work with Congress on the budget, then we have the environment we currently see.
@WraithkinPay no attention to the fact that the House is controlled by the GOP even though Republican House candidates received fewer votes ( total, nationwide ) than Democrat candidates did!

This overlooks the fact that only Congress can authorize spending, and the debt ceiling is from Congressional spending bills.

Dana has an advantage over other cartoonists: He doesn’t waste time finding out what he’s talking about.

@wbrSeems that you don’t realize when the Republicans put their trickle-down economics into play.
