    It’s fully possible that Betty has simply reached her ideal weight for her lifestyle. Bub, changing his lifestyle, had more room for movement.

    On the days that I am at home, either reading or on the computer, I eat less. If I could add in activities that would burn calories, I would lose weight.

    Reading has taken the place of eating for him. Betty doesn’t eat to pass the time, so she wouldn’t notice a difference.

    Bub has an interesting theory! I’ve never had a period of time where I DIDN’T read, so I can’t tell if reading helps my weight. And I’m not willing to stop reading to see if I gain …
