Bagging leaves? I just read that some environmentalists say it’s better if you don’t rake leaves…They break down over the winter and fertilize the lawn…..Good enough for me……

Tree diseases survive the winter by nesting in piles of dead leaves. You got to get rid of them.

Leaves on the ground make perfect hiding places for ticks. Don’t leave them laying around , mow them ! When properly mulched no raking or bagging is required.

Shirl SummYou can mulch thick layers by mowing. Go over it a couple times with the mower raised higher than the usual grass setting. Then put it back down to the usual setting and attach the mulching block (a little piece of metal that attaches to the exit chute, blocking about half the area; it came with the mower). Mow over that until the grass shows through again. Encourage earthworms, they can build an inch of good topsoil per decade by eating the mulch.

The leaves that fall for me are- 1) used to mulch my vegetable garden plots and raised beds to protect bare soil 2) in a compost pile 3) one mowing left on yard. The critters like butterfly larvae that use the piled leaves for shelter have it where I’ve mulched, the compost pile will put the nutrients where they are most needed, the grass can benefit from the broken down leaves that were left, and if I run out of space here, the rest will go to the city compost

Or rake them up into a big pile in your back yard, water them a bit, and let them compost!

First when I was a child maths used to be so EASY, now I look at it, there’s Calculus and all the weird Integrals and Vectors. I still like da time addition used to exist.

I was impressed by the KC Royals fans too. I watched some of the parade and was impressed.
