Actually, that isn’t historically accurate. We have made some progress. Just in my generation, we have made progress in civil rights, over the last couple hundred years. we have expanded rights to more and more people, women have made great progress, at least in some areas of the world, and the progress of those women has inspired others all over the world to consider that they might have some rights too. We are no longer subject to the unchallenged domination of a monarch who might or might not decide that we would look better without a head, on that day’s whim……………………………………………………………………
For a species that evolved from pond scum, I don’t think we have done all that badly, though I will admit there are instances that make me think that the pond scum would be embarrassed.
When it comes to people, there’s still serious disagreement as to what is “better”, or even “good”. The same goes for opinions as to how to instill “good” or “better” values and behavior in others, especially in children.
