    And teachers great and good are vilified by politicians who do not have a clue about the profession.

    That might have something to do with the fact that the union demands in most of the strikes I have seen are all about wages, benefits and more perks added to already generous compensation. Very, very rarely are there demands for something that actually is designed to improve the education process.

    Tenured university professors might get $150K, but the football coach gets $3.4 MILLION a year!

    Football coaches aren’t as likely to earn combat pay, even though their charges may well receive life-altering injuries from the game.

    The median salary (15 years’ experience) in central Florida is $53,000 / year. I think that is not close to generous. And, it is probably going to get worse, with the legislature that we have.
