I don’t think this is a stupid thing. The screws for glasses have to be tiny. It’s just one of those things you have to be prepared for, like having backup glasses, or large magnifying setups(sort of like the one in the comic), and checking your glasses periodically to see if any of the screws are unwinding themselves, etc.

Ginger can’t be seen because the glasses are broken. She’s off to the side laughing because the glasses got dropped while reaching for the remote.
