Imagine how that would spice up interleague play.

Righties should run clockwiseLefties should run counter clockwiseSwitch hitters should run directly from Home to 2nd and back.THAT would make for some interesting lineups and plays

You could have the Alan Kulwicki Division and the Jimmy Piersall Division. For those who don’t know, Piersall hit a home run and ran around the bases counterclockwise. o, I’m not trying to make fun of him as he had mental issues.

I still don’t watch American league, or interleague games in American league parks, or all-star games or world series games in American league parks. And never will.

So we can expect to see 3-5 groundouts and 4-6-5 double plays?

Citi Field is in Queens, New York, where the New York Mets play.

Sarah413,I think you mean that Jimmy Piersall ran the bases clockwise; they’re normally run counterclockwise. If the bases were regularly run clockwise, it would be better for all the infield players to be left-handed. Most of them are not.

In his autobiography, Piersall commented, “Probably the best thing that ever happened to me was going nuts. Who ever heard of Jimmy Piersall, until that happened?”

Piersall hit the 100th home run of his career, off Phillies pitcher Dallas Green. He ran around the bases in the correct order but facing backwards as he made the circuit.
