As someone who mostly votes Democratic, I was quite impressed with the deal Boehner struck. He really took a bullet for the country by trading his departure for passing a clean spending bill.
When you are trying to run a party that has a large wing that is living in a fantasy world, and quite angry about it any time that reality intrudes, you have a job that no one could do. I think he managed the nuthouse pretty well, and I doubt that the next guy will even try to intrude on fantasyland, because he lives there himself.
