Dad is in the same grade, that’s why he can’t help you.

When I was a kid most of my relatives, including Mom and Dad, were not able to finish high school. As I got older I showed them some things and they helped me with Social Studies. About that they knew a lot………..they lived it.

Since we homeschooled our sons, that didn’t happen until they were in college. However, I did the teaching, so their Dad went over their schoolwork in the evenings, and tried to help them understand any of the math problems they got wrong. He is better at complex math than I, but I learned a lot through teaching them.

Uh; WHY does the kid have a book in front of him? Don’t they all use an I Pad or something like that nowadays?

I heard that TV commercials are geared for a 3rd grade mentality because marketing departments have determined that the average adult TV watcher is at a 3rd grade level.

I have a graduate degree and my wife has her Masters and is a HS teacher. Neither of us can help our kids with the ridiculous Common Core math. Seriously, people, do a google search on ‘common core math’ and see how stupid it is.
