I don’t know why the President always gets all the credit. What about all those other guys in Congress. They certainly should get credit for all of the things they do.
Loving Hispanics does not preclude expecting people to assimilate into society..If you decided to move to Germany, would you expect them to provide English translation everywhere you go?
Yes it would be great if immigrants bothered to learn the language of the country they are moving to. When I visit other countries I like to attempt to learn common courtesies and other handy phrases. As a contrast I like to support local mom and pop stores and can’t shop in a large percentage in my area because of the language barrier.

This is not really a problem. The kids will learn English, and they will enrich it with new Spanish words. No need to kvetch.
