Why not take the old folks on a field trip to the “sordid underbelly”? That should make for some interesting pictures.

Here’s how I understand it, ahem ahem patooee: .In the first frame, Horace is going to make a photo essay. He’s thought it out and come up with a Title, even shot the intro footage. Now in the 2nd frame he’s actually out recording the “sordid underbelly”, and it’s horrible, detestable, repellant. In the 3rd he’s rethunk, shot a new intro, and he’s off to something more pleasant. .I see it as a metaphor for all of art and literature today. Why do we work, work, all the time work? It’s to become happy. To gather a few good things, a house, a wife, children, good food, good music, etc. etc. We want our children to turn out well and be even more happy than we are. When that becomes really difficult for the vast majority, with economy and society breaking down – but the fashionable art media ignores this and just keeps tripping on cuteness – then a Hemingway who comes along and sez the Emperor’s got no clothes, shows us the stark reality, that guy will ride a wave of popularity. .That’s what happened in the 20th century. But it’s not an eternal joy. Eventually we want to get back to pleasant art. Except that the morons who guide things have kept grooving in the seediness theme. Way past the expiration date. People are tired of it..The people who lived thru all that are getting old. They have enough wisdom to guide us thru the next parts, if we listen to them before they go. Horace is headed that way, Huzzah!
