The obvious solution: Mandatory gun ownership. Mandatory open carry. With everyone carrying guns out in the open, no one will ever be shot again. Perfect NRA logic.
Not the most fatal, twice as much chance of dying by falling.“Fall1:144Assault by Firearm1:358”http://www.nsc.org/learn/safety-knowledge/Pages/injury-facts-chart.aspx
Y’know…Given my position on any number of other issues, ( and some of my previous posts on the subject of firearms ) a lot of folks might be surprised to learn something: I’m actually NOT in favor of passing any new laws restricting gun ownership. The reason is,I believe they simply won’t work. For example, take look at Mexico, way more restrictive than the US when comes to private ownership of guns…and how has THAT worked out?
The problem with the NRA is NOT about rifles, shotguns, and hunting, it;s the false premise they constantly tout regarding HAND GUNS and concealable weapons!
My local pharmacy has a magazine rack, and 80% of the magazines are about the worshiping of HAND GUNS! It is not just the weapons, but the PSYHOLOGY of those who are so fascinated, well, obsessed, by these weapons. That is the audience the NRA plays to, and sorry, but it’s a bit nuts.
There are a lot of car magzines out there too, but car magazines don’t have all those articles on the best car to own, to KILL PEOPLE! Oh, right, in defense only of course. Now if they also touted drinking and driving, they’d be up there with the gun magazines on building those lethality statistics.
^Which by the way, reading the “Armed Citizen” columns in NRA publications, it’s interesting that 90% of their reports depict the person doing the WRONG thing with a firearm, and generally, if they hit anything, they’d be arrested if they were COPS doing the same shooting! Fortunately they usually miss, but the articles don’t ever mention how many bystanders might have been hit.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

What do those words in bold mean? Nothing? Something?Just some random words inserted because it didn’t seem long enough?
No bumper sticker response? I know you are, but what am I?
