It’s amazing how those first responders, fire, police, and others aren’t worthy of pay or support, until we need them. As I heard many times in my career, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.” converted to a slur and insult by the media, and “conservative” politics. Again, said right up til the time I was rescuing them or THEIR property. Now, as retired, I’m of course just a “government scab” to those on the right, and that includes the actual ACTIONS of those righties when it comes to my disabled son and myself when it comes to our mlitary service, we only get “lip service”.
