Someone finally clued me in, because I couldn’t read it. “NCAA” — Maybe it should have been a rickshaw with sideboard advertising?

players should have a union. the schools make so much money from them. ncaa makes so much money from the players. the schools turn a blind eye or discourage students becoming a union because of money. education that the school provides to the students is worthless especially at UNC. the high quality education argument is bogus. the coaches make millions. and, the school and the coaches cover up a lot of crimes committed by the players and other coaches.

The students spend the most productive years of their athletic career working for no pay and a lousy education. Then they’re through, with the physical damage done. Playing football prepares you for just about no actual career. They should get a monthly stipend for life, like the administrators at the NCAA get.

Get sports out of the university, use a club model instead. That way there’ no pretense of the athletes having to be scholars and they can be treated like the employees they really are.

Someone once told me that “Sports builds character.” As far as I can tell, the only thing that it builds these days is Megastadiums that only rich people can afford to get into and the bank accounts of the ultra-rich who profit from the efforts of others.
