The phenomenon is not new. I knew a guy who commuted up I91 from New Haven to Hartford who would read books on his commute. Guess he was an Evelyn Woods grad and would prop the book on the steering wheel, read a page and then look up to check the road when he turned the page.
A guy on I -5 passed me while on both his phone, AND his laptop held on the steering wheel. 1/2 mile later, he lost it, went off the road, rolled about 7 times, ejected from the vehicle as he of course wasn’t wearing his seatbelt: full Darwin award!
