denis, your deep understanding of health care is every bit as accurate as your knowledge of Saddam’s chemical weapons.

Canadians, and my daughter in New Zealand find “single payer” not only much better, but actually cheaper.

My wife and I have to listen carefully to the conversations of our conservative acquaintances before we say some that might offend.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factions_in_the_Republican_Party_(United_States)

I guess you saying it is propaganda makes it so. You really refuted the statements in the articles alright.

Okay, lonecat’s father in law got in right way. But the article he quotes says the wait for the average Canadian is 4 1/2 months. An average is a typical value so obviously some people are going to do better, and some will do worse. You still haven’t refuted the statements in the articles or their contentions about single payer.

Lonecat, good observations on the Canadian health care system. My conclusions are similar..The New York Post link has a number of inaccuracies, or information taken out of context..My observation on wait times: The kneejerk critics will use the longest wait time to draw conclusions about overall wait times. Obviously that is misleading and inaccurate. If I phoned for an appointment for a general checkup, the medical receptionist would ask if there were any problems. If not, the wait time here would be about 2 months. If I needed elective surgery such as for a hip replacement, I’m hearing wait times are approximately 10 months. But then it’s “free”, so you get no complaints. If I phoned with a time sensitive issue, I could get in today or tomorrow. .Some of the reading I’ve done on the subject gives Taiwan as having a very good system. Their approach was to study world health care systems and to adopt the best features of each. By the way, they started looking for a universal health care system in 1994, the same year the Republicans were shooting down Hillarycare.
