Um, Dana, do you even understand the “canary in the coal mine” concept? You think that EPA regulations will stop people from knowing about the dangers of coal mining because it will stop coal mining? Do you mean that, once we no longer have coal mining, people will go into the old mines for picnics and be killed by gas? Do you EVER think before you start to draw?
Yet they never talk about the thousands of mining jobs lost to automation of the mines, and “mountain top removal” that took not only jobs but whole towns and the streams and rivers counted on for water.
"Cleaner (never “clean”) Coal" doesn’t mean the death of coal, just reducing the deaths CAUSED by under-regulated coal use.

Summers doesn’t understand the need for EPA regulations, nor does he understand the economics of natural gas vs. coal.
