Linked in? What’s that? I never hear it mentioned on MySpace.

Bizarrely enough, I actually got a job through Linked In once.

I think it goes back to the DotCom ‘revolution,’ and the mindset that everybody could become a millionaire by creating some web presence. Obviously, they didn’t all workout; yet even though the bust happened long ago, we still have sites floating around promising more than they can deliver.-——————-Does anyone remember goto.com? The idea was to provide a site where you could type in a URL and go to another site. How was that offering anything you couldn’t get by just typing the same URL into search? It was like offering a shopping service where the customer still gets into their car, drives to the store and fills the cart- but you push it for them and call it progress,

I signed up once then I forgot the password. I wonder if I can still list that on my resume.

I belong to LinkedIn and, like @Observer fo Irony, have forgotten my password. It’s a useless site. I still get requests from others to link to me, and I ignore them every time.

I get an occasional LinkedIn request, but, being long retired, see no point in it. I see no point in Facebook either. My daughter is on Facebook, and that’s another reason not to join.
