That “rule” is waaaaaay older than she is. It doesn’t apply to brides. It deserves to be ignored, and/or mocked.

1st rule of comedy—know your audience

I read somewhere that grey hair is IN now and some younger women are getting theirs dyed grey on purpose.I had an aunt who only started getting white hairs at 96.I didn’t get that gene.

So who made up that rule? And what are the consequences of wearing white? How long AFTER Labor Day until you can wear white again?Sheesh, fashion “norms” make no sense at all.

Judith Martin (Miss Manners) says there is no such rule.
