Here in northern Maine I’ve had moose and bear in the yard. No, it’s not Alaska, but it is a beautiful area and still considered frontier by US standards.

they do seem to poop near trees, but that’s only my experience, and single trees seem to be as attractive as groups.

Just looked at a news feed of a black bear and her five cubs in a backyard swimming pool. Where? Suburban New Jersey. Bears are everywhere.
