Sure. Better to “lead from behind” and negotiate from a position of eternal weakness, shame of your country, and lack of courage.

Cheney made a fortune in stock options over the bodies of 6000 dead Americans. Now the rest of them want to follow suit.

When you aren’t getting along with someone, and your families have been enemies for generations, what’s the best course? Should you just continue to let things stay bad, or do whatever you can to try to improve the situation? Would it be better to pass the problem down to you children, their children, etc …………………. We used to be enemies with Japan, England, Mexico, etc. We can’t make friends with the Middle Eastern countries overnight, but we can start moving in that direction, and that is what this treaty is designed to do. It might not be perfect, perfection is really hard to come by, but it is an improvement over the current situation.………….Republicans don’t even try to lead, they are still just trying to prevent the Democrats from accomplishing anything so they can say they can do a better job when they are in charge. History says that they didn’t, and there is no reason to think that they would if they got the chance.

Here’s a question I’ve asked many times when the subject of war with Iran has come up.“Fine, attack Iran Then are you ready for $10,00 a gallon gas?”Know what answer I’ve gotten from at least one rightie, every time I’ve asked that question? ( when I’ve gotten an answer at all. )This:“Obama said he WANTS $5.00 a gallon gas.”

Comics always portray the republicans as war-mongers. Yet it was democratic presidents who got us into WWI and WWII. Wilson and Roosevelt.

Daniel: a little note: in WW I and WW II, we were slow to enter until we or our citizens were attacked, Lusitania and Pearl Harbor.

NIcaragua (covert), Honduras (covert), Grenada (overt), Panama (overt), Iraq (bush 41 Overt), Afghanistan (overt-wrong country), Iraq 43 (overt, no WMDs), just a few Republican starts of wars where WE were the aggressor and fired first shots.

Clinton stopped the Serbian genocide without the loss of a single American, with all our allies supporting us.

Today Republicans want more done in Syria, with over 50 different factions fighting each other, who do we bomb, and what business is it of ours who runs that sovereign nation, no matter how corrupt the leader? They want war on Iran, because they want war, not a way to end nuclear weapon proliferation. If we wanted that, we’d step on Netanyahu’s toes.

Nailed it again, festin. It’s easy to refute ignorance with facts—but rarely effective in persuading the willfully ignorant.
