When I was a kid in Florida, the elementary school I went to had an orchestra. I was handed a violin. No lessons. No instructions. I’m sure no parents would have won any prizes! I quickly went back to amusing myself with the flute-o-phone and my toy trumpet!

Elementary school? I thought she was 11. I guess times are different that was 6th grade when I was 11 and called middle school.
