Alice: That is the saddest toy I ever saw. Dill: Yesterday, some parts fell off and it left a puddle of something blue. I usually take it outside only at night so nobody'll see it. Alice: Why do you even play with it? Dill: It's the only one of my toys that my brothers don't try to take away from me.

Blue puddle? It sounds like an ad for a personal product.

“It went “Zip” when it moved and ‘Bop’ when it stopped, And “Whirr” when it stood still. I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.

I think it’s time to spiff that toy up Dill–not so much that your brothers want it but enough it’s not so sad…maybe add some glitter and sparkly things to it.

Having 4 brothers, I can firmly state that having a toy no one else wanted to mess with was a great toy - no matter what it did or did not do.

Whoah! If his brothers won’t try to steal it, it IS a sad toy…but it’s so CUTE!

It’s an educational toy. It teaches kids that life is confusing, solitary, disappointing, and finite.

@shytimes2: I agree! I was thinking how the the silhouette of Dill kind of looks like a little bald dude who’s surprised.
