How many “hostages” are we holding in Gitmo? How many are still in overseas areas where George and the boys sent them?
Break the laws of another nation, even if they are weird, and even if you ARE an American, like well, drugs in Thailand, Singapore or elsewhere, and you’re in trouble, not necessarily a “hostage”.
McCain was a POW, not a hostage.
After months of Carter’s folks negotiaing to have the Iran hostages released, and a failed rescue attempt in a sandstorm, Reagan’s folks did their own behind the scenes negotiating, and Iran finally released them five minutes after Reagan was sworn in. Reagan’s folks who were behind Iran/Contra, Grenada fiasco, and the long-growing fiasco setting Noriega up in the drug business (that was “Jolly Ollie” too, along with Edwin Meese III, Attorney General).
