So sorry to hear about Blitzi’s passing, I’ve been too busy the last couple of days to comment, but I have just caught up.

People who have never had animals don’t realise that We mean as much to our animals as they mean to us. He knew he was leaving and wanted to say goodbye, and to quote Douglas Adams “Thanks for all the fish”. I’m glad you are feeling better after your hospitalisation, Blitzi obviously waited until you were feeling well enough to let you know he had to leave. I know you will miss him, we all miss our animal friends when they leave us.

Glad to hear that your eye is healing Starman, may it continue at pace.

you’ll be up and about in no time, my sister had a hip done and she doesn’t even think about it now, which is exactly as it should be.

Had a bit of a scare with Big Man today. He tried to throw up twice last night – nothing came up. This morning he didn’t want to eat, so we knew something was wrong. Called our vet and she saw him this afternoon. Nothing obvious going on, she gave him an anti-emetic, so he wouldn’t throw up again, and this evening he has perked up a good bit and ate a little. We didn’t give him too much to start with. Can’t think what it could be. He goes outside but he doesn’t roam much these days, and isn’t big into hunting anything anymore, but he could have got into something that didn’t agree with him. Hope that’s all it was.

Thank you all for the encouraging comments. I’m not looking forward to surgery. Didn’t ever want to have it again, but sure want it over with. Your comments have made me feel a whole lot better about it.

There is a lakeside cafe in the eastern sierra that has a resident orange cat, and boo hiss on any health dept rules! Sadly, another cat at a different restaurant passed over the winter. I am much more likely to frequent a business with a resident cat, and I imagine most on this thread feel the same.
