What a frenzy this series has created! Now let’s get that boy Rover home and celebrate with a ticker tape parade…as I recall from past issues that Red has had with Martin, Red will not be inviting Martin to the ticker tape parade. That’s okay with me. Love you, boys.

Don’t tell me Rover doesn’t get back since the balloons flew off and he can’t leave!!! (Reality – The Soviet dog Niketi was one a one way flight. He was never intended to return alive.)
Just look up Laika in Wikipedia. The stray dog was made a Russian space experiment and died of extrenme heat exposure within hours of take off. I am old enough to remember the news about it. felt sad then and feel sad now. Not reading this strip (sadly, my favorite) for awhile. Sorry, Brian. Big mistake with those of us who love the sweet relationship between child and dog.
