I DON’T want this story line to end anytime soon, but including today’s strip, there sure is a lot going on that seems it might!

Jackpot! They found Diet Smith! They had better be careful, lurking around the trophy case with the shrunken heads. I suspect there are people more dangerous than “that woman who beat up Mumbles” around there. I also hope Mysta gets the message. Honeymoon is very new at this stuff.

I know they already explained away Honeymoon’s Wrist Wizard, but what’s that on her arm?

Good morning, DT fans!How could they arrive at Blackheart’s headquarters without being blocked or detected?Or are all save Bribery and Munros out on errands?

And another thing: why Annie didn’t say: Leaping lizards! These are shrunken heads! They seem totally unfazed by Bribery’s grim trophies

I am not too confident in Honeymoon’s telepathic abilities at this point. Like Annie, I’d feel a lot better if Punjab and the Asp were around!The junior detectives have managed to sneak up what look to be the service stairs floor by floor, and now Honeymoon overhears Poppa Smith and (as we know) Mr. Bigg. Something is bound to happen now; but there are so many plot elements coming together that it is well nigh impossible to guess which will take precedence. There is a large cast of characters making their various ways about Ace Tower! Any one of them could erupt….

I’m still chuckling over yesterday’s observation by Sydney that Mike might one day retroactively render the name of Dick Tracy’s greatest foe as FLATTAP …

… clearly a Jazz Artist.

I’m not certain they noticed the shrunken heads as they walked past, especially if the case side panel is solid.

The number on the wall clearly indicates they are on the 6th floor – but I thought Mr. Bigg’s office was in the penthouse suite.

I suspect that when the MCU arrives it will pickup like gang busters.-————————————-I think that’s a long way off.There’s way too much happening.

Could it be possible that we’ll have a chase scene?Mr. Bribery in his helicopter, and Diet Smith and Tracy in a Space Coupe?Yeah, I know. Don’t bet on it. It would be fun, though…

It certainly seems to be the case that Smith no longer possesses any operational space coupes. If there is an operational space coupe on Earth, it is the property of Lunarians.

Seem my usually trusted reference for most information on Dick Tracy let me down on this occasion.

It’s The Dick Tracy Encyclopedia* It’s simply an unusual mistake in this classic work on things Dick Tracy (now out of print) by Vic WichertOdd thing is one of his reference panels (Nah Tay jumping) actually has Gould’s ‘original text’ using the name Nah Tay). It sailed right past the Author

Shows that at the end of the day, the Original Strips ate our most reliable reference

Not knocking the D T Encyclopedia, it’s excellent for looking up things quickly and beats the Heck out thumbing through old strips and magazines to find the answer to some minor thing in Gould’s extensive work.

While searching for a picture of the cover to the above-mentioned encyclopedia, I stumbled across the ‘Uncyclopedia’ entry on Dick Tracy!

Maybe some of the folks here should punch up the material for ’em, huh?[Though I am rather fond of “Head That is oddly mishapen, and unpleasant to look at” Jones.]

Maybe we should add a section on Dick Tracy Fandom, and parody ourselves?

Not sure if that’s meta, or just egocentric.

I wonder…

If Honeymoon ends up in mortal danger, could it be that her telepathic pleas for help might result in other Lunarians rushing to her aid??? Namely, the ones we saw at Mysta’s grave?

Enter one of the Munroe goons wearing that suit for a battle royale!

Perhaps when Bribery created Mysta, he has a ‘Remote Control’ much like Diet Smith has for the Space Coupe?

We know they installed a tracking chip in her.

I think for the sake of the story that Mike may be stretching incredulity a bit. How did Honeymoon and Annie find their way off the ground floor where the AM show was going on? Surely, an organization as sophisticated as Blackhearts would have some security or at least lock off the floors to their members only. It just seems incredible that anyone could come into the building and wander around unseen. Another thing is the building seemed to be empty. There wasn’t any security on the exhibit either? Seems like they use the same security as Diet Smith and anyone can walk in.

One other thing, it feels like we missed something. How did Honeymoon and Annie know about T-Bolt beating up Mumbles? They must have seen it somehow because how else would they know T-Bolt did it even if they found Mumbles in the closet? Seems like some details are being skipped and left for readers to surmise. Kind of like when the lights went out in the Jimmy Chooz story.

Regarding the Dick Tracy Encyclopedia, I have a copy and it is perhaps the best source to look up all the details you might have any questions about with dates if you want to look up the actual strips. I highly recommend it if you can find a copy.

Great story except after both kidnapping him, and then letting him know about the shrunken heads….how could Bribery ever release Diet anyways?

Though I have been saying that the heads aren’t shrunken.

I think shrunken heads are normally shrunken (without the skull). They looked pretty small in the ’60s when people held those jars in their hands.
