Up until they passed away two years ago, my in-laws watched Lawrence Welk every Saturday night. If my wife and I were visiting we had to watch with them. Fortunately, I always found an excuse to do something…..anything to avoid losing that 60 minutes I would never get back.

Everyone’s parents did. And they made us watch for “music appreciation.” My mum made us sing with several of the songs as well. I am scarred for life.
